Conference Overview
The winds of change continue to blow in our industry.
The 2008 IPWEA NSW Conference included the NSW Roads Directorate
Annual Congress as well as a day devoted to Road Safety
Officers and their industry issues.
The conference theme "A Change in Climate" encapsulates
the challenges facing the industry and was borne out in
presentations and streams.
In 2008 there will also be an expectation that nominees
for Engineering Excellence Awards will be prepared to present
a paper on their project
By all accounts the 2008 IPWEA NSW Annual Conference based
at the Crowne Plaza in Parramatta was a great success. For
the first time, the NSW Conference was conducted alongside
the Roads Congress and the Road Safety Officers Forum, providing
a busy schedule for members, councillors, presenters and
exhibitors.
Along with the formal program, the welcome drinks, the Engineering
Excellence Awards dinner, a wine and cheese tasting and
a fun night at the Western Sydney International Dragway
the program was certainly full.
There were many and varied conference papers and well attended
workshop sessions
Thanks go to the participants from all over NSW and beyond
who supported our conference in 2008. It is only with your
continued support that our NSW conference can grow and develop.

already commenced!
